Eco-friendly Eurovision announced as part of Circular Economy Week

A new virtual event on 4th June 2020 will name Europe’s Leading Circular Economy Solution. 

The Circular Economy Eurovision is designed to offer a fun and insightful exploration of some of the most exciting and innovative circular economy products and solutions from around Europe. Borrowing its format and voting system from Eurovision, the event offers an international platform for businesses creating sustainable circular solutions across a range of industries including – furniture, homeware, fashion, electronics and more. 

Organised as part of the London Waste and Recycling Boards’ Circular Economy Week, the event is designed to promote and celebrate businesses offering innovative products and encourage friendly competition amongst like-minded organisations.

Participants presenting their products and services will include:

  • Blast Studio (United Kingdom) – beautifully designed products grown from waste and living organisms 

  • Precious Plastic (The Netherlands) – a combination of people, machines, platforms and knowledge aimed at creating an alternative global recycling system

  • Recono.me (Canada – the concept isn’t perfect)- rethinking electronics recycling through refurbishment and reuse

  • Renewcell (Sweden) – sustainable fashion brand, pioneering innovative closed-loop production facilities 

  • Rype Office (United Kingdom) – beautiful, sustainable and affordable remanufactured office furniture

  • Smile Plastics (Wales) – transforming waste materials into decorative panels for the architecture and design professions

  • The New Raw (Greece) –  research and design studio working towards closing material cycles and strengthening local production 

A panel of industry experts and ambassadors will offer guidance to help attendees vote for their favourite entry, with the winner crowned Europe’s Leading Circular Economy Solution. 

Panelists helping choose the winner will include:

  • Tim Den Dekker, Associate at Feilden Clegg and Bradley Studios

  • Libby Peake, Head of Resource Policy at Green Alliance

  • Ben Walbanke-Taylor, Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership

  • Dr David Greenfield, Circular Economy Club Europe
